RT @davidsirota: We’ve gone from Kamala Harris pushing $2,000 a month, to Joe Biden promising one $2000 check “immediately,” to Biden saying $1400, to Biden saying he’s open to negotiating $1400, to Biden meeting with GOP senators now demanding no more than $1000. https://t.co/jLI9gFB6bC
We are now nearing 100,000 people dead from Covid.... in January alone in the United States. It’s the deadliest month yet and it’s not even close. Any cities or states rushing kids to school, or restaurants to reopen are making a grave mistake. We are in the worst of it.
RT @DocMellyMel: Police abolition is not only possible, it’s necessary. Let’s start by getting #CopsOffCampus in CA public schools, colleges & universities. I am so very honored to have co-authored this with Dr. Angela Davis and Dr. Robin Kelley. https://t.co/LFngkmS6lS

RT @melissajhogan: Just bc someone has nothing to hide (I don’t), doesn’t mean you want the painful parts of our life strewn across an all-employee staff meeting. Can you imagine your spouse’s co announcing your divorce or other personal, painful info to the company, much less lying about it? 8/
RT @melissajhogan: So back to my privacy. Besides it being gossip & slander, why does @daveramsey think he has the right to talk about my personal life to 800 employees? Bc unhealthy boundary violations are part of the company’s fabric & they train you to accept it. 7/ https://t.co/7fAruwPQkt
RT @melissajhogan: They get away with it because they cloak it in Jesus. “We love you and we love Jesus, so let us inside your finances, your marriage, your social life....” Does your church ask for your budget? No. Does your church ask for reports from your counselors? No. Or they shouldn’t. 6/
RT @melissajhogan: Wanting to send us to marriage counseling and get full reports, not only from therapists, but also from our elders. Let that sink in. They wanted our church elders to REPORT TO THEM. As if @daveramsey were the authority. Which they indeed thought they were. 5/
RT @melissajhogan: Submitting a budget as part of the job process? They get away with it bc it’s part of their shtick. But does any other financial co do that? Why do they have a right to know your spouse’s income? What you spend on school or savings? This is an unhealthy level of info/control. 4/
RT @melissajhogan: The spousal interview - so they can avoid “crazy spouses”? 2 effective uses there: 1) asking questions you aren’t legally permitted to ask a job candidate, 2) sowing distrust in a spouse who may be more observant of unhealthy practices bc they aren’t swimming in the kook-aid. 3/
RT @melissajhogan: Employee families are groomed from the interview process on to accept boundary violations by @daveramsey, to accept invasions into the privacy of their lives, their families, their finances. It’s similar in many ways to an abusive relationship. A frog in a pot. 2/
RT @melissajhogan: In my jaw dropping over the willingness of @daveramsey to gossip about and slander me to his entire company, I glossed over a more fundamental breach - a complete violation of my privacy. There’s a reason it was so easy for me to overlook that. 𧡠1/ https://t.co/7fAruwPQkt

And Schiff voted YES for H.R. 115 — the Thin Blue Line Act of 2017 — a draconian, regressive piece of legislation that extends the federal death penalty to anyone convicted of killing or targeting law enforcement officers. California needs and deserves better than this.
Schiff voted AGAINST S. 1917, which was the biggest criminal justice legislation to be considered by Congress this entire DECADE. If passed, it would have drastically reduced incarceration rates and given judges more discretion in reducing sentencing disparities.
This is BIG. I just learned that Gavin Newsom is under HEAVY pressure from Nancy Pelosi and a contingent of others to appoint Adam Schiff as California’s next AG. And let me tell you, this would be a huge problem for criminal justice reform in the state.
