RT @BernieSanders: I am not often speechless, but this young Dreamer's courage took my words away. RT @gaywonk: Harassment isn't siloed, either. Every time he makes one of these videos, his fans flood the comments on the original Vox video. So a piece I spent 4 weeks working on is drowning in homophobic and abusive comments and downvotes. Other Vox fans see it. It's humiliating.
RT @gaywonk: YouTube does not give a fuck about queer creators. YouTube does not give a fuck about marginalized creators. YouTube does not give a fuck about diversity or inclusion. YouTube wants clicks. YouTube wants clicks. YouTube wants clicks.
RT @gaywonk: Again, the problem isn't Crowder. There will always be fucking assholes trying to get attention by being bigots. The problem is that @YouTube is designed to give those assholes a megaphone, push new followers in their directions, and keep them listening. It's a weapon.
RT @gaywonk: Anyway, if you want to help, I guess you can go to this dude's videos and flag them? But @YouTube isn't going to do anything, because YouTube does not give a fuck about queer creators. It cares about "engagement," and homophobic/racist harassment is VERY "engaging."
RT @gaywonk: This isn't about "silencing conservatives." I don't give a flying fuck if conservatives on YouTube disagree with me. But by refusing to enforce its anti-harassment policy, YouTube is helping incredibly powerful cyberbullies organize and target people they disagree with.
RT @gaywonk: My family sees this shit. I've had to explain to my much younger sister what the fuck a Steven Crowder is, and ask my siblings not to respond. Its exhausting. I wish @YouTube gave enough of a shit to stop its platform from becoming a fucking playground for assholes.
RT @gaywonk: Which is all to say: I work my fucking ass off to create smart, thorough, engaging content for @YouTube, a company that claims to give a shit about LGBT creators. And its miserable to have that same company helping facilitate a truly mind melting amount of direct harassment.
RT @gaywonk: This has been going on for years, and I've tried to flag this shit on several occasions. But YouTube is never going to actually enforce its policies. Because Crowder has 3 million YouTube subscribers, and enforcing their rules would get them accused on anti-conservative bias.
RT @gaywonk: That being said, I'm not mad at Crowder. There will always be monsters in the world. I'm fucking pissed at @YouTube, which claims to support its LGBT creators, and has explicit policies against harassment and bullying: https://t.co/K9XJGAP7Xp https://t.co/4GUfTDuOXS
RT @gaywonk: Since I started working at Vox, Steven Crowder has been making video after video "debunking" Strikethrough. Every single video has included repeated, overt attacks on my sexual orientation and ethnicity. Here's a sample: https://t.co/UReCcQ2Elj
RT @marcosmchacon: Mexico's President @lopezobrador_ calls on @realDonaldTrump to avoid confrontation and tells him that he is not a "coward". AMLO goes on in his letter giving some history lessons to Trump to show him how the US and Mexico have worked together in the past. https://t.co/HfannF585D

RT @ErikaAndiola: You are not running a f**en company @realDonaldTrump. You are running a country. Your actions have consequences. You've killed children. You've put kids in cages. You've separated them from their parents. People are still seeking refuge. YOUR CRUELTY IS NOT WORKING. ENOUGH! https://t.co/ac66ah5f89
RT @AOC: .@tedcruz if you’re serious about a clean bill, then I’m down. Let’s make a deal. @JonesCamacho @AOC @ewarren @BernieSanders I am sorry you see it that way. I am a deep Bernie supporter and surrogate and I say to you that she can endorse whoever she chooses, according to her own preferences and inclinations. I trust her on her own merit and see AOC as a peer hero in this space.

Bernie Sanders did 52 campaign events in 14 different states for Hillary Clinton after he lost to her in the Democratic Primary. More than ANY other single surrogate during that time. Yet the lie that Bernie did nothing for Hillary still persists. He worked his ass off. https://t.co/dkmvvIjs2z
RT @SenSanders: If Eddie Lampert has enough money to buy a $130-million, 288-foot yacht, he damn well has enough money to pay the $43 million severance package he promised to the workers at Sears, whose jobs were destroyed as a result of his greed and mismanagement. https://t.co/b2v9ALpC9F
RT @AOC: Just ahead of coming out of bartending retirement, @ryangrim shares this heartwarming tale π¬ What’s wild is that I’m a member of Congress & I STILL found myself pausing at this, scared of possible repercussions of this story being public. Imagine how everyday waitresses feel. https://t.co/a9rTU9ZPlt
Last year, nearly 40,000 people were shot & killed with guns in the United States. That's the highest number ever recorded in 50 years of measurement. So don't tell me mass incarceration or the war on drugs made us safer. That's a lie @BretStephensNYT https://t.co/pZ4ks3xcN4

RT @AOC: Taxes, taxes, taxes! We have sworn Congressional testimony that you artificially deflated your assets to skirt paying the taxes that fund schools & more (a crime), & inflated your assets for insurance (also a crime). Mueller has nothing to do with that. Cough up the receipts πΈ https://t.co/k7PvCsORFl
RT @theappeal: It's time for politicians to stop talking at Black voters & start talking with them. "Joe Biden. Be Proud of Your Crime Bill." Absolutely Gross. I expect this from the conservative @BretStephensNYT, but @JoeBiden created the opportunity for such an op-ed to be written in the first place by his flippant attitude on it. Appalling. https://t.co/wpdsubWVet

Joe Biden’s team knows 3 things: 1. His myth is WAY better than his reality. 2. He can’t take questions from the audience or from reporters without very problematic gaffes and mistakes. 3. His actual policies are among the worst in the entire field. SO THEY ARE HIDING HIM. https://t.co/YNXEoVnswI

That ANYBODY looks at what we are experiencing in this country (and around the world) right now and determines that what we need to do is meet people in the middle is astounding to me. Only a first class level of aloofness could see 2019 and decide to go to the middle.

If you want to defeat Trump, you choose the Democratic nominee who is supporting, and is being supported by, these movements. Choosing a candidate who is at odds with them, and for some candidates, that means being at odds with each of them, would be a disaster. Certain defeat. https://t.co/Fgj0WPMuil
Imagine this... The nation CURRENTLY has active movements for A Green New Deal A $15 minimum wage Medicare For All The end to never-ending wars Major justice reforms Comprehensive immigration reform IMAGINE choosing the nominee for President who doesn't support those things.
When I study what happened this weekend around Europe, mainstream, moderate politicians lost in a MAJOR way. It's not what people want. And without fail, all over Europe, people rejected middle of the road parties and middle of the road politicians. It's historic.
In 2016, more youth voters voted for @BernieSanders than Hillary Clinton & Donald Trump COMBINED. Bernie was far and away the preferred choice of young voters. But Democrats, ignoring that, instead went with the moderate establishment candidate. And Trump won 30 states. 30!
I think the single largest mistake Democratic voters could make would be to choose a nominee that is not liked by young people. And I don't just mean teenagers, but voters 18-35. In 2008, Obama was the choice of the youth, and young people brought their energy to his campaign.
I see the battle for the Democratic nomination about a battle between two generations that see the world VERY differently. It's shocking how differently older voters that are 65+ see the candidates than younger voters that are 18-35. //THREAD
