Today our hero @AdyBarkan risked his life to fly to DC to advocate for Medicare For All. This was his 1st time giving a speech w/o his own audible voice, but these are his words. Like @robdelaney I cried watching Ady & pledge I’ll fight just like him. https://t.co/8LEbn7eebb

Shame, Shame, SHAME on San Diego for ever voting in their conservative Republican District Attorney. We told them this type of stuff would happen and (white) voters voted her in anyway (or because of this). She is now forcing defendants to do something truly outrageous. https://t.co/iuerap3tBp

Not joking. I asked about a dozen people who told me they are supporting Joe Biden what they like about his views or policy positions.... And they had absolutely no idea. I asked them what they knew about his views on a variety of issues. They had nothing. Mainly just Obama.

Gross from the @NYTimes. Trump completely concocted a fake story about a woman having a baby, they wrap it up in a blanket, and then she and doctors decide to murderer the baby - and Democrats support it. This isn't an inaccurate refrain. It's a big ass lie. A dangerous one. https://t.co/FmlM0rngL8

RT @ScottHech: I was struck but not surprised by how kind the other woman was to this older, terrified Chinese woman. She was so happy for her when her name was called & gave a hug when I communicated as best I could I couldn't help her tonight. Humanity perseveres even in inhumane conditions.

RT @ScottHech: Every time a prosecutor asked for bail, judge set bail. Every time they consented to release, no matter crime, the judge released. Prosecutors have power effectively to end cash bail if they wanted to. Their requests are single greatest determinant of whether bail will be set.

RT @BernieSanders: Another horrific shooting at a place of worship, today at the Poway Synagogue in San Diego County. We must work every day to eradicate all forms of hatred and bigotry, and take serious action to protect Americans from gun violence.
RT @staceyabrams: On this, the last day of Passover, my heart grieves for Poway and the Jewish community. RT @OKnox: A quick point about Biden's call to Anita Hill. One thing you learn covering foreign relations is that expressing "regret" about something is not an apology. It's a step short of that. (Example: Clinton expressing "regret" for No Gun Ri).
RT @SherylNYT: NEWS: Anita Hill told me yesterday that Joe Biden called her a few weeks ago, but she was left feeling dissatisfied and doesn't feel he has taken full responsibility. "I cannot be satisfied by simply saying I’m sorry for what happened to you." w/@jmartnyt https://t.co/E2iv6ODZgQ
RT @jjouvenal: BREAKING: Federal judge agrees to release Coast Guard Lt. Christopher Hasson, who was accused of plotting terror attack by federal prosecutors. Judge says govt. has not charged him with terrorism and murder and doesn’t plan to, so no grounds to hold.
In 2019, it’s hard to be stunned, but this has shocked the hell out of me. Christopher Hasson, a white supremacist, was actively plotting to kill multiple elected officials, members of the media, and more. He had an enough weapons for a small army. And is being released. https://t.co/GENqAJhSzn
RT @AyannaPressley: Don’t dare invoke one of the darkest days of terrorism in MY city to stoke fear and derail a meaningful conversation about fundamental rights & what justice looks like for the 1000s of black & brown folks who are stripped of their liberty & civic participation for minor offenses.
RT @nrojas0131: “Call the police, but if you’re calling because your neighbors are having a barbecue and you’re calling because of some implicit bias because they’re people of color, we don’t want to see that,” Patti Caudill said. Must read by @_mariaeperez for @TheNorthStar https://t.co/XUPqy11i7L
RT @davidsirota: “...But this I am confident of: at the end of the Democratic primary, whether I win, whether Joe wins, or whether anybody else wins, we are going to see Democrats come together to defeat the most dangerous president in the modern history of this country.” -@BernieSanders (2/2)
RT @mollycrabapple: 58 year old sex worker who was with Kraft is now in jail. Police found $43,000 in her safe deposit box, which they’ll no doubt confiscate. If she posts bond her passport will be confiscated But this was all about saving trafficked women, right? https://t.co/P5tnJOGSn5
RT @_waleedshahid: I'm no fan of Biden in this primary field. Progressives won't be holding back their criticism. But if Biden ends up becoming the Democratic nominee, I'll be supporting and voting for him over Donald Trump in a heartbeat. No question. And that's true of almost everyone I know.
RT @GunnelsWarren: Only 1 presidential candidate helped lead the opposition against every single one of these disastrous bills: @BernieSanders Glass-Steagall Repeal NAFTA China PNTR Wall Street Bailout Iraq War 1996 “Welfare” Reform Bankruptcy Reform "Defense" of Marriage Act USA “Patriot” Act
RT @theappeal: While violence & horrific living conditions go unchecked in Alabama's prisons, leaders of non-violent prisoner organizations have been placed in solitary confinement without cause. Their only means of protest? Hunger strikes. https://t.co/6tLLVlExLm
RT @shaunking: Please follow @TheAppeal. It is the best central hub in the nation for quality news and thoughts on the criminal justice system. Then visit https://t.co/XQDdFzL2T8 to see the brand new web platform. Proud of the whole team behind this. GREAT WORK everybody.
Yes I see that Joe hired @SymoneDSanders & @CristobalJAlex to be advisors. They are both brilliant and make any team better. I am speaking about who runs the campaign and calls the shots. I am deeply disappointed to see the lack of diversity in those roles for Biden. https://t.co/8tk46MWWlu
RT @shaunking: Let me put my political philosophy for presidential campaigns on the table. If you say you believe something today, but don't have a clear demonstrated history of fighting for that thing before the campaign, and are between 40-80 years old, I just don't believe you.
For all of 2018/2019 a small group of us lobbied behind the scenes to make sure that Democratic campaigns hired people of color as their campaign managers. Many listened. Joe Biden didn't. It's disappointing. His core team has diversity, but just not at the top. https://t.co/8tk46MWWlu
With his hires of Greg Schultz as Campaign Manager, Kate Bedingfield as Communications Director & Deputy Campaign Manager, and Pete Kavanaugh as Deputy Campaign Manager... Joe Biden broke the mold of other leading Democratic campaigns and hired 3 white people to run the show.
RT @theappeal: In @theappeal The Contenders: Joe Biden has come close to apologizing for his role in engineering mass incarceration, but his part in crafting the 1994 Crime Bill was not a "mistake," it was political strategy designed to defeat the GOP. https://t.co/CyDwjQLDvA https://t.co/A4TQYuDjoP
RT @ErikaAndiola: It’s important that the American public not underestimate how traumatizing family detention facilities are. There is no way to humanely incarcerate families. Detention for any amount of time in any manner is always immoral, illegal, and abusive. #EndFamilyDetention https://t.co/wMM6jVTeug
RT @theappeal: Every time you get a prescription filled, it is tracked by the state - including police departments - under Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs). Public health experts worry this surveillance has a chilling effect on patients & providers. https://t.co/LZMFTWCK3X

RT @shaunking: The Crime Bill of 1994 was literally named after Joe Biden. Now watch the speech he gave for it. I think it's the single most problematic speech ever given on mass incarceration in US Senate History. Then listen to @BernieSanders blast Joe & blast the bill. NIGHT & DAY. https://t.co/oVKWEd1DUS
When @BernieSanders speaks out against racism, income inequality, worker's rights, housing accessibility and affordability, criminal justice reform, the environment, etc. GUESS WHAT? I believe him. The man fights for those things AS A HOBBY - it's his life's work.
When @CoryBooker comes out and says he wants to decriminalize marijuana and make sweeping criminal justice reforms central to his campaign.... GUESS WHAT? I believe him. He knows those issues and has proposed courageous legislation on them. He'll fight for that win or lose.
So when @ewarren says she cares about income inequality and gives a speech on it and unveils sweeping policies to address income inequality... GUESS WHAT? I believe her. Because she's been fighting for this for decades. She'll fight for it win or lose. It's who she is.
Let me put my political philosophy for presidential campaigns on the table. If you say you believe something today, but don't have a clear demonstrated history of fighting for that thing before the campaign, and are between 40-80 years old, I just don't believe you.
RT @BernieSanders: Young people are the most progressive generation in history. Your generation is anti-racist, anti-sexist and anti-religious bigotry. You should be very proud of that, and you should not be afraid to think big. https://t.co/kLLcehq1TO
RT @AOC: Reminder: - Slavery ➡️ Jim Crow + Redlining ➡️ War on Drugs ➡️ Mass Incarceration - Black Americans & PoC are far more likely to be convicted + sentenced longer than White Americans for similar crimes. - Our system routinely criminalizes poverty + exonerates wealth
@QJames @Bakari_Sellers @JoeBiden Thanks Q. Here's my operating philosophy. And it runs deep. I struggle to believe the presidential platforms of candidates if they don't match up with their actual history. I put a much larger weight on their demonstrated history than their website & campaign speeches.
RT @Bakari_Sellers: So @JoeBiden you were the author of the 94 Crime Bill, it’s champion, and #1 cheerleader; this bill has led to mass incarceration and specifically targeted black and brown people. What are your plans to unravel the damage you helped to cause?
